We had to buy our tickets so close to traveling because we needed to see the signed letter with our date for sure. It was a two hour event on the phone with the airline. She was amazingly helpful trying to help us use our skymiles but it didn't work. Oh well. I watched the price of plane tickets change before my eyes. They went up over fifty dollars just while we were trying to book them. Delta is great though, she managed to give me the price I first saw online and that was helpful.
I am soooooooo excited! I cannot wait to see the kids! My husband is more excited than me and has an amazing attitude about the whole trip. He says its going to be a great vacation. I am going to keep thinking like him... well I'm trying... I am way excited!
Now to lists and packing. My kids will be well taken care of by family. Just don't know how my house will survive... and the laundry too! There is another list I have to make. I thought it would be a good idea to have a sealed envelope to the kids for every day I am gone that will have a special message for them every day. I suppose it will be good to include those motherly words like "turn the lights off in the basement before you go to school" and "make sure the dog's water isn't frozen".
Ukraine...here we come!
A sealed envelope with a special message for each day you will be gone?! Okay, mom of the year, way to make the rest of us look bad:)
ReplyDeleteI was thinking I hid treats and left clues each day for my kids but then I thought longer and realized that was when my husband and I went away for 5 days. Not SIX WEEKS! (Can you imagine hiding that many treats through your house?)
ReplyDeleteSorry you didn't get to use your miles. Boo.
Good grief Wendy! You too?!
ReplyDeleteIt's no vacation, that's for sure. Well, for your husband it might be. My husband is really not happy he's leaving this weekend and I get to stay. I told him I would GLADLY trade him places, but no such luck since I wouldn't be able to go to work for him. LOL
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of an envelope for your kids! I just took mine with me. ;^)
